I didn't specifically mean the debates just low enthusiasm for Hillary in general. She ostensibly won the debates besides the whole rape victim stunt Trump pulled.

I think the more people listen to Biden talk the worse it is for him. But he can still coast on the anti Trump sentiment. IIRC the turnout in 2018 was much higher than a normal midterm.

It will also be interesting to see how the pandemic affects voting, campaign rallies/events, the debates, etc.

True. But his campaign will have to sell the public a good reason for not doing it. And even if he does sell a good reason, Trump will berate and mock him endlessly (which he would do in the debate anyway).

Despite that, you and I both know that the networks want nothing more than these debates to happen. Imagine the ratings and the advertising money that they'll rake in.

Would Trump have the gall to bring on Tara Reade in a press briefing before the debates like he did with Hillary?

Despite Biden's constant flubs, I thought he did remarkably well in his last debate with Bernie.
