They do, but it would be carved out of the 4 countries already mentioned. Hence the animus.

not just minorities.. but subversives to the state

Thus they are dealt with much like England dealt with the Irish Catholics, the Soviet Union dealt with Catholic poles, or Israel deals with Palestinians.

TBH a little reading on the subject makes the idea of the Kurds being our allies over the years into a cruel joke. Like they hope we'll help them but really they're just our pawns to use against whatever enemy we have in the Middle East at any given time even though we have no intention of ever truly standing up for them.

That's exactly it. We stood by and watched when Saddam gassed them, even long after we considered him an enemy. Then eventually aligned with them after we overthrew Saddam and the region plunged into chaos because they were natural enemies of the Sunni force ISIS, who would like to see the Kurds extinct. once that was no longer convenient we abandoned them to the slaughter.

The common term for the US among Islamic extremists the great satan. Well, you know what they say about making deals with the devil...

It absolutely befuddles me that there’s anyone in the world who doesn’t think Israel has shown incredible restraint. They should have fumigated that place decades ago.

When Saddam or Chemical Ali gassed the Kurds shortly after I was at a punk rock show where the band asked if anyone had anything they wanted to come on stage and talk about. I talked about how the gas killed the elderly and the very young most heavily and pointed out that at that time America was still manufacturing chemical weapons. I was heavily booed but one cute girl threw me a peace sign.

They really shouldn't be there in the first place

For someone showing incredible restraint they're doing a hell of a job expanding and wiping out the native population
