I prefer him to the neoliberals and the neocons tbh. It isn't about identity politics: it's about destabilizing government enough to where real progressive change agents could step in with a vengeance. We'll see one of those in 2020 maybe.

I'm sure you all know this one on some level already, but in the same way that people don't change unless you push them to the brink of destruction, America isn't ever going to change unless someone pushes it to the breaking point. You need someone incredibly polarizing to force a change in the status quo. That wasn't going to happen with a Hillary Clinton presidency.

I have progressive beliefs / ideals, I just don't think they're realistic in a logistical sense. Same way I like sci-fi and fantasy novels over other genres. I know I'm not hopping on a spaceship tomorrow, but they're nice to think about.

Pointing out there's a precedent and an argument to be made doesn't resolve Trump of doing something wrong. I'm just a sportscaster watching a game here and making predictions on what plays both sides are going to make. If I were taking bets, I think it's more likely he won't be removed from office than not. I'm not expecting any surprises from Schiff and co. at this point.

I've already been real about it. I'm the grown up a room full of screaming babies who whine about change but don't like being told that the only way for real change to happen is for someone like Trump to run wild for awhile. It's like, what do you want me to say, that Bernie or Warren were going to be in the running if Clinton had won? They have a wonderful opportunity right now that didn't exist four years ago.

One term might be enough to galvanize the masses in the next 12 months. We could very well be in the endgame for The Great Trump Experiment. We'll just have to see.
