I'd add punishments to those who peddle snake oil if I were the one true leader. But you take the rough with the smooth.

Do you agree that those people will be political? Maybe read my posts a little more closely.

If this bill had even an ounce of potential issues at least one democrat would have puffed their feathers and voted no.
And ONCE AGAIN, this bill does not just throw the doors wide open to someone peddling battery acid and axe body spray. The drugs already would have had to have passed the initial FDA guidelines.

Stop posting with your hair on fire.

And it's actually politics that prevented them from challenging it.

*facepalm* I'm not gonna explain it to you four times in a row, dude. I'm not discussing this with you anymore because you're not considering my points and you literally do not understand the bill based on your arguments.

To anybody else, this is a fascinating subject that I'd still like to discuss more.

How so? Still waiting on you replying to your stupid statement about the Senate Iraq war vote.

A previous version of the measure barred the FDA from considering any information on safety problems as part of its approval process for a drug used under right to try. The latest version was modified to allow the agency to consider such information if it is critical to determining whether the drug meets the agency's safety standards.

The pharmaceutical industry was quiet on the issue and offered no protection for those that would have dissented and all of the lobbying was on the bill's side.

The Iraq thing was meant to convey that a popular bill doesn't equal a good bill. I'm quite aware that its not unanimous.

And that's exactly what I've been saying this whole time. You can pass the safety standard and fail every single bull**** standard in place. You fail those efficacy tests and your drug is not approved. Not taking the test at all means that you are unapproved. That's where the snake oil can slide in, because it's not inherently dangerous (note that it was Bat that brought up battery acid so take it up with him). This is why I say that you do not understand.

I brought that up in response to Goofle coming with the libertarian deregulator schtick, not specifically to Chula.

This is America.

Right to Try means the right to be exploited and given false hope at your most profound moment of desperation.

Even the name, a play on the right to die, a serious social issue, is crooked.

Kill money.

Surely you understand the alternative is actually worse? People dying anyway, knowing the government isn't allowing them to try experimental medicine. And you're upset because some folks might make money?

Statist knee bender.
