Well if a politician said that nothing illegal happened then that puts the kibosh on this situation.

In this particular case, yes. Because their whole bitchfest is that Trump "pressured' another world leader against his will into investigating the Bidens and that there was some kind of quid pro quo. The Ukrainian president has no reason to take Trump's side if that's actually the case.

Lol. The Democrats love Ukraine and would celebrate Zelensky as a hero forever if he confirmed their interpretation of events. They'd give him billions in military spending as a reward if Trump got ousted and then Biden, Warren, etc. gets elected. There's no point in protecting Trump when your the only guy who can point the finger and say "Yeah, that POS tried to coerce me. Impeach him!"
