I know you'll give me **** for pointing this out, but everything you don't have you seem to come up with some rationalization why you shouldn't bother with it.

It's a defense mechanism. I've been there, I'm not trying to shame you. Just maybe try putting yourself out there a bit more and don't take rejection or failure as something to be avoided at all costs. If you never fail or get rejected then you're aiming too low.
