Perhaps. But I'd argue the assumption that the American voting public can't handle/rejects nuance is a dangerous one. Most politicians talk to the public like we're in 6th grade. At the very least I'll try to be someone who assumes my audience has at least a GED, and speak about what shade of grey American should support.

elph, a flaw in your debate style is that you seem to assume common knowledge between you and your opponent. It's a lot of 'obviously X because the influence of Y', not helpful in establishing common ground or finding the core of the disagreement. Just an observation, do with it what you will.

Good idea. I was thinking of running for a Board of Education seat to wet my feet before my city council run. If you end up liking your board position maybe go county then state.
