I don’t wanna die. Much love bro. It’s a nice thick thinking rain right now. Our restaurant was worried they might miss a sale and tried to stay open but my HEROES the FLO-POPO closed them down for being in the evacuation zone. Thank God I can relax and do my best to enjoy it as long as it’s not blowing my roof off.

This Michael hurricane has come up so fast and furious that I imagine people feel caught off-guard, without days to make plans, as usually happens when the storm is tracked for a week as it crosses the Atlantic.

I suppose there are three options: stay in yr house, go to a local shelter, or leave town. Whatever you do, I hope you and yr dog are ok, OccultHawk, and that you don't live too near the coast.

I live like a mile from the water but it’s a bay connected to the gulf not the gulf itself - it still surges at the same volume but it offers resistance (faint as it might be) to weather that’s been riding on the gulf. Water in gulf will be going nuts but the bay ripples along doing its own thing

When it was a tropical storm in the south part of the gulf I looked at it and thought there sure is a lot of warm water to build this s o b up.

Shonuff was

It’s always hot but this “summer” has been a killer for going on 7 months

I’ve been comparing daily temperatures to the averages for the date

June July and August were typically scorching but April May and September and now even October have been midsummer like

Responsible meteorologists want to use past to patterns as predictors coupled with the knowledge that the water is hotter than average. Like a lot of things climate change related I think we’re expecting smooth even growth but we’re starting to see that it’s exponential growth sort of like the weather patterns are mixing booze with pills 2 plus 2 equals 5

If you want to see where greenhouse gases in the atmosphere lead look at our friendly neighbor Venus.

Also it doesn’t help when the media oversensationalizes storms. When I was a teacher I was quick to evacuate but money is so tight now

Not having rent is pretty much the same as having your roof blown off if you think about it

Hurricane Michael is so bad that Waffle House has already closed 18 restaurants

That's pretty intense. Stay safe, hawk.

The eye hit land they’re saying at a cat 4 but the course was so true to the model that we just barely got touched with the outermost bands.

The weather report is that we’re going to finally get some mercy from the heat at least at night.

Obviously I’m grateful to have AC but I am so ready for an open window fresh cool air night. OMG zzzz

I’m already thinking I need 3 weeks in February OFF WORK to reunite with nature. Campfire camping - beach meditations with no one in sight. It’s crazy no one goes out there when it’s comfortable enough to enjoy.

After Xmas I’m going to put in for the unpaid time off. If they say no I’ll give two weeks notice in January and then just reapply.

I’m making the nature scene goddamnit!

Maybe they’re going to find a bunch of corpses but right now I’m really amazed by the low fatality rate. They’re only reporting two so far.

Seeing some footage of Mexico Beach, FL. on FB. Can't find it on YT yet, but I'm sure it'll pop up soon. Pretty nasty stuff.
