I’m really and truly financially trapped. I used to move around when I was young but I’m like really ****ed for real this time. Stucked and f ucked.

Chio doesn’t complain about the heat FYI

And the better places are like locked down with absurd prices

Hey, man, move to VA and we'll get an apartment and live in **** and bitch about it together. Not even joking. I'm willing. Finding a roommate who I would want to even look at would be like pulling teeth.

Oh and since I live in VA you might not hear from me for a while when Florence hits. I don't know how hard this will hit us but I live in southern VA so I imagine I'll at least get some ****. I might want to get some serious video gaming in in the next few days cause I don't know if I'll have power after. At the very least I might get in some good gas lamp light reading done in 90 degree, 500% humidity weather after the fact. Last time we lost power it was a few days of that and it made me lose all respect for incandescent light cause actual fire light is so much more awesome. And chilling on your porch when the winds are turning the trees horizontal but close to the ground it's at least reasonable is one of the more meditative ways to spend a day.

This is me btw. Having not seen a post from Ori in a while and knowing he's a Virginian I'm curious if he's been evacuated. There are areas around me that have had mandatory evacuations but not mine. I'm going to work tomorrow on my day off because the person who'd be working my shift got evacuated. Should be some tasty slow days.

^ Do you have an evacuation option for you and your mum? I'm not sure you should just wait on "mandatory" because it looks like you live in a low-lying coastal area, which is not going to be good, I'm afraid. At least latest projections have Florence veering a little more to the south, so you won't be getting the full force.

On a side note, who are all these guys grumbling about 90-plus temperatures? Where I live, for about eight months of the year we go above 90 at some point in the day. You guys should just chill - geddit?

We'll be alright. We don't live in a particularly at risk area and won't see any storm surges. We've never evacuated for a hurricane and we've always been perfectly fine. I actually like sitting on the porch with a book during a good hurricane.

Hey, man, I'm legit willing to get a place. I need to get out of my mother's house but the idea of getting a roommate and having to live with them and knowing they'll almost certainly be someone I don't even want to be around doesn't make it any easier. I know I'm drunk but if you just so happen to be willing to move a few hundred miles I'll be willing to take a look at affordable apartments.
