For once there's some good news from drought-stricken California, and if you don't particularly feel like reading the article, it also has a bunch of Before/After comparison photos which some geography nerds enjoy so much ;)

So because of the explosion and the controlled burn from East Palestine Ohio, There is a strange smell that people are reporting from my area to the DEC. This is going to have long lasting effects on Ohio itself and nearby areas. The DEC is saying that the source of the smell is coming from our area though and it's not related but I'm not so sure about that.

It's probably going to kill everything in the great lakes.

Agreed I also forgot to mention that my area is like a 6 hour drive east of where that explosion occurred.
