You wish. Neap is probably the funniest member here.

Question: If recruitment to islamic terrorist organizations is only due to western abuse of power in the ME, why are muslims who haved lived all their lives in Europe, and therefore have no legitimate reason to hate the west, being radicalized and recruited to islamic extremism?
Their only potential risk factor would seem to be being muslim, merely. How do you explain this as anything other than an inherent problem with the ideology of Islam?

Then this place is in a sadder state than I had thought.

Oh, and he doesn't like being called Neap. Apparently.

I honestly think that they people on the left are just as stupid as those on the right, especially on the subject of islam. I have read parts of the qu'ran that are deeply troubling, so to say it isn't a religious problem is absolute denialism. But to insinuate that all muslims are bad is outrageous and ****ing ignorant.(its what ISIS want). The truth, like most things,
lies somewhere in the middle. But I am open to being completely wrong, as I have found I usually am in my life.

.

EDIT: Though just want to point out, I have never seen the 'all Muslims' thing, people keep bringing it up but where is it happening? Any time you see vocal critics of Islam in the media they will pretty much always say the majority of Muslims are peaceful people.

Not only that, muslim communities make massive efforts to distance themselves from the extremists, to point out clearly that what the terrorists and hate preachers say is not what they as peaceful muslims believe. So it's not like you can say you're not getting it, as it were, from the horse's mouth.

(As long as it's halal, I guess....)

Ja there's plenty of awful stuff in the Q'uran, but zeroing in on those would mean ignoring the conflicting verses that make up much more of the book. That's the logic I've heard from Muslims regarding extremism.

Anyone here seen Four Lions?

Islam has a history of being a highly interpretative and metaphoric religion mostly because the Q'uran was originally written in a type of formal Arabic hardly anyone understood.

Really sick of this "Islamic" front the world is buying into to be honest.
