smh Muslims are just yet another group of people with on average repressive religious views. They don't behave as a people in the west any worse than fundamentalist Christians do. Islamic countries and their policies are one thing... But when you talk about Muslim immigrants as if they are coming to install shariah in the west you must know that's just pure xenophobia and typical clash-of-the-civilizations type thinking.

Everywhere that doesn't suck is benefiting from the basic global imperial order set about during the colonial period. I'm sure that's a coincidence.

I don't know anyone who doesn't condemn fundamentalist Muslim policies, or thinks it doesn't matter. Not seeing how that's different from condemning all Muslims or being anti-Muslim immigration is just short-sighted.

Like Marie said, it basically goes against your grand narrative

You say the west is evil and rules the world and that's wrong

And then you point to the consequences of that rule in that certain countries are **** and you blame that on Muslims in the countries that happen to be Islamic

I can agree with you that the Islamic religion has a negative affect on a good portion of the world right now. But that's not unique. Religions often have downsides. And Muslim immigrants in the west can't be compared to Islamic countries and their doctrines. There is a definite cultural divide. But that's always true as long as you have a pluralistic society.
