I feel like sabotaging a scam should be praised even if you're a scammer too.

As a frozen brain, are good consequences a likely future for you? Or is it more likely that - in the slightest possibility you could be brought back - you would find yourself alive but with no body or in a body that doesn't quite listen to you? Perhaps unfathomable phantom pains? The subject of some horrible experiment perhaps? Stolen by some crazy person in the midst of a relationship crisis?

It's true that everyone can make their own choice about whether to install a "smart toilet" or not. My worry would be when you use a toilet that's not your own, such as at a friend's place or at an office, are you going to know whether it has these sensors installed? And if they are installed, will you have a choice?
Lots of employers have rules prohibiting employees from using certain drugs. If this technology becomes available, it's a certain bet that many of them will install sensors in the staff toilets, justifying it in the name of drug detection... and as likely as not the analysis won't be done in-house, the data will be sent to some "trusted" organisation such as our friend Google. I don't like the sound of this at all. There is something to be said for the old-fashioned custom of digging a hole, doing what you need to do, and filling the hole in afterwards. It's inconvenient, but at least you keep your privacy. |
