So what happens in the US if someone gets cancer and needs treatment then? How does that work?

Only half-joking. If you don't have good insurance or savings you're kind of ****ed. It's the biggest theme of the show, right alongside "meth is bad".

That seems crazy to me. Is it common for people to not have decent insurance?

Say someone off here got very ill and needed treatment but didn't have savings or insurance, what happens then?
