I was simply pointing out that the US isn't a fully capitalist society, so it would be rather silly to blame capitalism for failures we see. You haven't once attempted to explain why capitalism is as bad a system as socialism/communism, you just mentioned some elements of the US that isn't capitalism.

Letting the market decide the price of goods has always been a more successful strategy than allowing the government to control things.

What's socialist about the military? Is it not quite the opposite, when we consider its tasks like union breaking, strikebusting, and quelling protests and riots, thus upholding and strenghtening the capitalist system?

What does it even mean to "out [communist] the Soviets"? Lots of research institutions in Norway are publicly owned. Is Norway a communist country?

Reagan didn't buy all those missiles with his leftover TV revenue. They were bought by the state. There's nothing free market about America's nuclear arsenal.

I'm not advocating either system. I hate capitalism more because it's the one that is most actively ruining my life, personally.

That can happen when the government controls the price of goods (creating it's own monopoly), but under a capitalist/free market system there is at least the availability for people to compete with each other in order to lower prices even if one particular company raises their prices.

Lol you completely missed my argument and went off road. I was trying to humor you afterward but I can only do so much. :P

It appears that you are (in your own words) "ignorant" when it comes to what's been going on in the last ten years in technology, biotech, etc. There's a lot happening and most people don't keep up with it, so that's not a criticism, just an observation. None of those advances are coming out of the government's pocket. They're coming out of companies like Google and universities partnering with free market money. If the public sector can't advance without rich capitalists funding serious ventures, then maybe that makes capitalism the least of all evils in this case as long as these ventures produce results.
