I'm definitely going to pass this on to other vets that I know through the VA that would jump at the opportunity. I was partly joking but that's a great thing you are doing. If I wasn't so busy trying to get my two businesses up and running I would apply.

I'm not so strict about my thread. It's fine to go off topic. I made this thread for discussion period. Yes, it was mostly to talk about Trump's cabinet choices and educate about the different departments but discussion is healthy in any form so feel free to proceed.

I know what you mean. I'm talking to investors over the next few weeks on two different projects in the shipping and oil / gas industries. So besides this program I've had my hands full since the start of the year.

What's everyone's thoughts on Buzzfeed's bogus dossier?

So Wednesday night Trump's parrot Kellyanne Conway goes on CNN to blast them as fake news over the Trump/Russia intel story. Thursday a host of top level officials validate CNN's report. Thursday night Kellyanne doesn't respond to a request from CNN to comment.

First time the parrot has shut the hell up in months. Priceless.

Like any site or news outlet (or lack thereof), they have the right to do whatever they want. The only thing that would hurt the cause is figuring out if it were true or not. But that doesn't mean it won't cause people to be skeptical.

Not only that, but the source has been said to be a reliable one, so we'll see.

Imo I think they shouldn't have the right to do anything they want and if they knowingly publish false information, they should get time in prison for it. That's not a verdict on this particular case btw.

Also, where was that optimism of the last sentence when Trump said he had the best guys?

Well, you're under the assumption that Buzzfeed is the first place people are going to go to when news is brought up. People should be smart enough to take it with a grain of salt until it is either aired on other news outlets, or at least confirmed. I didn't really think much of it myself, but the fact that it got Donald Trump all piss pants means publishing the "news" did exactly what it sought out to do. I don't necessarily disagree with you, but that's just how I see it.

I mean, again I'm taking it with a grain of salt. If the source is actually confirmed to be reliable, that's an argument to be made at that time. I'm only going by the developments that show up over time.

If they're going to be publishing news, they have to abide by journalistic standards. Period. This election proves that you can't expect the populace not to be a flock of idiots.

Well of course. I'd agree with you on that one until the day I die. My only point is that if people are choosing not to be skeptical (which you should always be when news breaks out, whether it's presidential, a celebrity death, or w/e) this type of stuff will always blow up. I looked at it with skepticism and checked if other sites were reporting it, and I came up with nothing. At that point, I just played the waiting game and nothing has really been said about as far as I know.

That's pretty much what I'm getting at.

Funny thing is it was Donald Trump who really got the whole fake news **** going when he went public saying he had "very reliable sources" who could prove that Obama wasn't born in the USA. What goes around, comes around.
