Yes.

I think you're just describing the rest of the country.

I certainly hope so. Normalizing this ass hole would be the worst thing we could do.

Edit: Outside of electing him, of course. Oh well.

Same. I work in NW, live in NE. Considering staying with friends in Virginia next Thursday-Sat just to avoid the influx of pro-Trump die-hards and anti-Trump protesters.

But, I also kind of want to walk around and just people watch. Sadly, depressingly people watch.

Oh ****, you're from the VA area? One more person to badger into going to Maryland Deathfest whenever I get the money to go.

Yep, I plan on going to the inauguration to do just that. However you slice it, this will be a historic inauguration. I would feel weird living here and not witnessing it. Unfortunately, my wife - who is Filipino - feels too unsafe to go. Just shows you the world we are living in now.

Where in NE do you live, and do you like it? Don't want to derail anything, but the wife and I are considering looking for a place there. Brookland looks like its getting more stuff to do, but I haven't had a chance to check out the bar/restaurant scene there.

Umm, Siege, Autopsy, Morbid Angel, and Decrepit Birth? I'm there - for part of it at least.

Is there a real reason that she feels unsafe to go the the inauguration or is she just paranoid? Is DC becoming kinda... I dunny... Klanny or something? Or parts parts of DC? I'm drunk so I sound stupid but I'm honestly curious. Is there a legit part of DC that's becoming or has always been racist but the rest of the country isn't aware?

DC itself is incredibly segregated, with the poor working class population being driven more and more into the crime-ridden SE area. In general, though, the city is incredibly liberal. Something like 93% of us voted for Hillary.

For the inauguration, she is just worried about the pro-Trump people coming and the fact that they might not like that we are in an interracial relationship.

Supporters of a campaign built on xenophobia sound like they'd be less friendly towards foreigners than other people.

Also, listening to the press conference right now. Pence's applause breaks sound like he expecting this to be like a rally, not a press conference, and each round of hesitant applause makes me laugh harder.
