Maybe because even the evil baddies realize that's a shit strategy/term.

Why didn't Obama deny being responsible Sandy Hook? Must've been the shooter himself. (These two situations are not equivalencies, but the logic found in them are identical).

I'm glad you're not a lawyer dude.

Trump major lawyering up right now regarding impeachment.

But yeah if just one Manufacturing Consent. Maybe more important now than ever. Chomsky was dealing with a world that still valued honesty though. Not that they weren't liars but Trump supporters celebrate brazen and open dishonesty. It's a new paradigm.

Comey and congress agree to a fully public testimony after a week of people thinking it was only going to happen behind closed doors.

This is going to be so much fun.

Its kinda hilarious that literally nothing Trump has done could be provably impeachable, improper legally or an act going beyond his available authority. Anonymous sources, anonymous insiders, non issues etc. One coming out after the other, dying a quick death, as if it's all pretty much hot air to make him look like he's genuinely acting like a complete tyrant.

But damn Donald, put out a cohesive message. Jesus. Give these guys an inch and they will travel round the world with it.

Maybe you should spend less time invested in the news cycle? Look at what people have actually said and done. IRL.

If millions of fans get riled up about Bieber's haircut, does it start to matter? In my experience, people are VERY skilled at treating non-issues like apocalypses (such as illegal immigration or the War on Christmas).

The news cycle, when it comes to politics, influences a vast majority of the US voting public (and Wall Street). Not saying that's right or wrong. Just saying that's the way it is.

Trump only got elected because of the news cycle for crying out loud.

Crooked Hillary. Lock her up. Personal server. Repeal and replace Obamacare. Make America great again. All part of a nightly news cycle during the leadup to the election.

Trying to dismiss it, or ignore it is pretty naive when it comes to politics.

Bringing Beiber into it? Sometimes you grasp so hard at straws to try and make a comeback it's beyond ridiculous.

What's going to be the headline on most newspapers tomorrow - worldwide - and what's going to be the leading story on all of the morning news shows. What's going to completely distract Trump's middle east trip?

Like it or not. It's the current reality. Again, the vast majority of Americans pay very close attention to the news.
