Because the president just announced he's kick starting the space program. Where's the money going to come from?

Whoops.

Again I think you're being short sighted and are blinded by your assumptions.

Do you think Kennedy's push to get us on the moon was a positive?
Yes. Our economy was in MUCH better shape back then.

Pardon my typo. My original comment stated solar system. But if you wanna run with a follow up typo go for it.

Again, I don't much care for Trump's ideas about how America should spend its money, but if he wants to spend money on space exploration, then... well I don't think he's gonna accomplish much cause he's a buffoon, but at least there's the possibility that he might do something of note that will benefit future generations. It's not like you're gonna be able to convince him to use that money to preserve the environment, so I'll take it.

Point still stands. We don't know what we will discover until we discover it. That's the damn point of exploring in the first place. Our solar system itself is very large and potentially full of things that we don't know about yet, we haven't even explored our whole own oceans. To claim that Europa is the only thing that science can gain from our solar system is shortsighted and is honestly unscientific. Also I'm not talking about finding life exclusively, there are literal worlds we can learn from to understand the nature of endless subjects.

And I'll text Trump to cut the military budget in half to get rid of your fiscal question, which was not really what we were discussing when you inserted yourself into the conversation.

tl;dr

All resistance all the time

Oppose everything Trump even if it goes against your beliefs

Don't legitimize Hitler

Im not gonna comment on the economics and Trump, I just came here to point out we make new useful discoveries on earth every day and I think you're foolish to think the only thing important about space exploration is finding a new place to live.

Not to mention that this planet will soon be overpopulated to the point where it can no longer support all the life on it. And that our sun will die eventually. So we need to try to find other worlds to colonise. And meet sexy space chicks, of course.

The majority of every generation has said that things are "fine" btw because they had nothing but the past to compare it to
Well, yes, I can understand what he's saying. Society has seen mostly improvements in living standards throughout the centuries, so no, I'd rather not live in Victorian London or 14th century Spain or in the Stone Age thanks.

Kind of embarrasing to have people living in abject poverty on more than one planet

Dip****, I said that science has already proven there's nothing in our own universe other than the slim hope for Europa.

Learn to comprehend instead of simply knee-jerk reacting in order to try and get a rise out of me.

Can someone please install an IGNORE function to this board?

Put down your crack pipe.
Put down yours. You clearly said the universe. Not even the galaxy. The universe. We haven't even a clue how big that is yet, so no way could you say there's nothing to find out there.

I don't think you can call that a typo. Be honest Chula: you got it wrong. You meant to say solar system but said universe.
