At least we have actual policy actions to discuss instead of overanalyzing Trump's riffing to hyped up crowds.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...=.a29d7280308f Like this. This is a bunch of bull****. Obama should have came out as being really really supportive of the pipeline, then Trump would have done the knee jerk response of closing them down. |

The push back on repealing the ACA is already starting to swell and it's pretty bipartisan. On another note was just thinking of something: Both Linda and I have lots of family and friends back east, most of whom voted for Trump. They are constantly chattering about how they can't wait for the wall! I asked one of them recently how he felt about the fact that Trump had reneged on the whole Mexico's gonna pay for it, 100%, and that now his taxpayer dollars were funding it. His reply? I'd gladly pay for 2 walls to keep me and my family safe! Now I'm sitting here thinking, I spent the last 20 years living less than 3 miles from the border and have never once been afraid. This dude lives over 3,000 miles away and he paranoid as hell and scared. Can you say: Successful Fear Mongering 101? |
I don't see/hear as much about immigrants being dangerous as I do hear about immigrants being responsible for the ****ty hiring methods of the labor industry in the Southwest(like paying below minimum wage to people who can't report you, high rotation, etc.).
And tbh, if you refine your bubble enough you can end up to believe anything. |
I'm going to ask a stupid question now (oh how surprising I hear you all say) but it's something I don't know as I wasn't there, and you may, as you were there. Well, some of you. Anyway...
With all these protests of "not my president", were there not any when Obama was elected? I mean, surely if there could be one event certain to polarise American opinion it would be a black man being elected their commander-in-chief? But did these protests take place? And if not, why all the savage sentiment about Trump? I get people hate him and fear him, and why they would protest, but honestly, if the whites (let's say radical whites) didn't do this over Obama, is it a bit OTT to be doing it over Trump? Sure, you don't agree with his policies and think he will lead America to disaster, but hasn't everyone on the other side thought that if their candidate didn't win? Go gentle on me: like I say, I'm not American and don't understand these things. We don't got the depth of feeling about politics that you guys have. |
