But family is pretty boring sometimes tbh. Don't be like them.

Can't be as boring as putting up tacky decorations while listening to Christmas themed adult contemporary.

We used to do a lot of Christmas deccos when I was young, something we all looked forward to. I mean, the whole family (minus my deadbeat waste of skin dad) would join in. Now of course things are a lot different, and there's only me to do the decorating. I probably wouldn't bother (Xmas trees are a hassle) were it not for Kar. She's stuck in her room and I have to try to make things as Christmassy as I can for her, so I guess that's what gives me the incentive to get up off my slim ass and get to it. I normally wait till about the day before Xmas Eve though; can't stand having the decs up two weeks before the day, as many people do. I also don't do outdoor decoration a) because I can't and because b) it often looks quite tacky not to mention c) some of the neighbours tend to get into a decoration war about it, and it gets a little out of control. Small and simple, that's my motto.

He's sick and tired of breaking his back for some milk and cookies.

And yet somehow no. Tacky Christmas decorations are good for the soul and Xmas adult contemporary is transportive. But by all means be contrary for the sake of being contrary.

You are so white.

You wish I didn't care about lame traditions simply out of contrarianism and not good taste.

I'm of Irish Catholic descent. You don't get much whiter than that. As in literally.

It's a holiday based on the Christian tradition of subverting native religious practices for the sake of conversion. Good taste is irrelevant.

Bookmarked for when anyone tells me that I have bad taste and I know it too.
