It can be tongue-in-cheek and still be a valid organization. People take the Flying Spaghetti Monster seriously too for many of the same reasons.

Apart from wanting to be edgy, I don't really see a point in satanism.
I've bought The Satanic Bible in my teens and it's okay I guess, but really nothing to write home about.

I haven't read it, but i read some stuff not to long ago talking about what it says in La Vey's book and it didn't seem to say anything to brilliant.

It doesn't touch upon anything general nihilistic outlooks don't already achieve.

Yeah. I think the only reason the book is so popular is because it was released during a time of strong religious beliefs. And the idea of someone going against that was still a foreign concept.

That's setting the bar high. How about that it says not to sexually pursue girls that arent interested in you while the bible says you have to marry girls you rape and pay the father?

Certainly, the Satanic Bible has moral principles more relevant to todays values than other religious texts, measurements of brilliance aside.

It's not anything new and I don't think it's even trying to be edgy. It's more like woke antitheism and the tenents are specifically written to illustrate where Christianity went wrong. It's all about personal responsibility and compassion.

Which is exactly the point of it and why satanism exists. Jesus was claimed so they chose another representative to drive the point home.
