Bill Weld is great as well. I'd vote for Tim Kaine as well.

Of course it is. Even if it is corrupt bad experience. It is better than none at all when you have to deal with foreign leaders.

Yeah, that's unfortunately the convention, but we can change it. We can change anything we want to as a society. We just need to decide that we want things to be different.

While I may agree, I still think its beneficial to have experience even for an entry level job because if I were hiring, I'd much rather hire somebody that knows what they're doing over somebody that doesn't.

Of course that brings in the argument of "how do they learn if they aren't employed?"

Internships are great for that.

I don't know what sort of job you have in mind, but a lot of jobs are really easy to do and people who have lots of experience at that job might not do them any better than people who don't know anything about it but who you hire and have them learn the job on the go with some minimal training from employees who are already there.

My wife works sometimes as a business consultant, and a lot of the places she consults for have both (a) positions consisting of tasks that are really easy, and (b) people who don't do the job any better than a random junior high school student would.

I may have worded it differently than how I wanted it to come out. I mostly meant I'd rather hire somebody with experience over the alternative. Granted, I was hired at a job that I stayed at for four years with minimal to no experience so I suppose my word doesn't stretch very far.

However, we're talking about entry level jobs vs presidency. Bit of a difference.
