Of course I read it, and the article states several times that the rich are disproportionately taxed. That was my whole point. Unless we were having a different discussion I'm not sure what point there is in continuing the discussion.

Also I'd use every loophole available if I were in that top tax bracket as well.

It would appear all numbers aside, that there is a growing dislike for people who actually go out an make their millions. Which would imply that the hearts of men are jealous, and not awear of the things they have. However I am going to have to agree with Goo here, because if yer gonna tax everyone (which taxation is theft imo) tax everyone the same or no taxes.

Honestly, because all this look like to me is a bunch of people mad at people who earn more than they do. Key word is earn...

My point was that "nearly half of all taxes" is a grossly exaggerated number.

If you go back to my initial post I said that the Top 15/20 % pay almost or more than 50% of all taxes based on the article I posted. Then I said that I'm not sure how accurate those numbers are. I'm still not sure, but Chula's link provides more clarification which I am greatful for.

But the discussion wasn't about specificity of the percentage, it's about the fact that the rich do in fact pay a hugely disproportionate amount of taxes, even with loopholes available to them.

Question: does impeachment only apply to crimes committed during the presidency?

Do you know why the pay that large majority of taxes because they have more than enough money to pay it so **** 'em and let them pay. Nobody cares about the woes of the po' rich guy that EARNED his millions. Sure, you earned them but you didn't earn them on your own. You used government services on your way to earning those millions so pay back into the system that helped you make those millions you greedy fucks.

How is it fair for people to earn millions of money using government services then when they acquire said millions through their hard work they think it's okay to say **** those same government services that helped them?

Also take "fair" out of your vocabulary, life is fair and good **** happen to bad people and vice versa. I hate when anyone brings that up. wah wah wah but why is that fair? Life isn't fair and we are reminded daily of it. :banghead:

ambition and entrepreneurship doesn't need a climate. The american mantra of having a white picket fence and pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps to create for you own has always been there. The proverbial carrot on a stick that poor Republicans aspire towards not knowing that they will most likely never get to that point where they will be able to acquire that type of wealth.

It's a sheep-ish pipe dream that they need to wake the fuck up from.
