Every religion is exactly the same.

yes a very traditionalist practice of Islam is dangerous (as it would be with any religion)

but we know that a more secular Islam is not only possible, but prevalent in some parts of the world, and in some parts of history

But it seems like there's tendancy to over simplify that the intervention is the only reason there are extremists, whether you like it it not they're are cultural incongruities between the west and Islam that might make someone averse to modernity in their own way.

Like I mentioned we watched this thing happen domestically as well as abroad where religious groups rejected modernity and as a result became more extreme

What's the final solution when it comes to Islam?

No, I wouldn't give Christianity that much credit. Yes in retrospect you can read some agreeable messages in the new testament compared to the old testament but all in all, if that was the core driving message we wouldn't have lived the way we did for 2000 years only to just recently realize it all just really means peace and love.

It was only after the religion splintered and started to
faulter that we started making some progress in the west.

The same solution that was applied to Christianity should do.

You mean accepting it as the status quo and pretending that it's no longer an issue? It looks like elph is ahead of you on that one.
