As the other active Islam-related thread is more specifically about Europe, I thought I might as well revive this one.
Currently watching this interesting discussion between YouTuber ContraPoints and an ex-muslim called Eiynah. I'm only 25 minutes in atm, but there is a lot of interesting nuance in this that I feel is often left unexplored:

I tried watching a few of that youtubers videos after watching this response to one of his videos:

He just wasn't that interesting to me so I doubt I'll sit through the video you posted. "I Am Genderqueer" is probably the best I saw if you did wanna check one out.

Yes, I also mostly agree with Vern's response there, and to be honest I rarely agree with Contra's viewpoints, but his views on Islam may be more complex and less "SJW-y" than you maybe think, plus it's counteracted by the more openly critical viewpoints of the aforementioned ex-muslim. So to my estimation it's still worth a watch, at least from what I've seen so far.

It is in the Quran though. I couldn't remember the exact verse so I looked it up.

In the Quran, Surah 5 verse 32 “if anyone saves a life, it shall be as though he had saved the lives of all mankind.”

We all know it's in there.

You missed the bit before what you quoted though and the very next verse outlines the brutal ways in which people can actually be killed.

Why do you think that is?

I haven't ignored it. Just pointed out Deej conveniently didn't mention the first part of that verse or the one that follows, which is what a lot of people do when they see it being shared around on Twitter.
