So Osama bin Laden would be a better person than, say, Gandhi, if he just "redeemed himself"?

Islam is one of the few things on earth worse than Christianity. I ****ing hate when people try to explain the core beliefs like its good. It's just bad. Everything about it is **** to the ****ing core. It's so repulsive. It's ****ing vomit.

Sorry, but you're wrong on this one. If you look into the history of Islam you'll find that the extremism really started with the Israeli / Palestinian conflict. And it blew up when the west aligned with Israel and started taking over the Muslim holy lands.

Christianity has a much more storied past when it comes to violence and extremism.

Islamic extremism is much more a defensive reaction from the 20th century, where-as Christianity has always been on the offensive for the last 2,000+ years.

Well that'll happen with religions that remain dominant for centuries.

OK, it's one thing not to like a religion, but your extreme dislike is forcing you to sound like a Bizzarro Donald Trump.

You mean apart from the rapid military expansion across Northern Africa and Europe beginning in Muhammad's lifetime?

At least Jesus had the decency to let his apostles spread his religion by the sword after he had his crucifixion coma.

Saying it started from the inception is kind of unfair, yes, since it was your typical tribal war that Muhammad was engaged in without (maybe) the intent to spread Islam. But when you conquer a region and make your new subjects accept your religion under punishment of death, it's a little easier to not leave out the political web that initially increased the Islamic population.

And I remember you talking about the bible as a historical document so maybe you're not as qualified as you think you are in terms of world history. Even theistic scholars of Christianity (well, ideally) try to be realistic and unbiased towards their religion. Try it out sometime.

Lol I think you're confusing this with the hyperbole thread. Not sure a single post counts as spewed all over.
