^ Well done! Some much-needed perspective on who has been persecuted by whom, and if we throw in the treatment of indigenous peoples in the Americas, Africa, India and Australia, the balance seems pretty clear: the human race by the Christians.

To be fair, we're not talking about the copious sins of the past. We're talking about the modern era.

The places where Isis is expanding are a few hundred years behind the modern era, so it's apt.

No it's not. Remembering the past to understand the present is important, but we're still living in the present, and so the Inquisition is not relevant except how it directly affects the present.

Disagree. We always look to the past for inspiration. Who knows, maybe some ISIS militants look to horrors the Christians did in the past to infidels to justify some of their horrendous actions today.

ISIS crucifies people. They're not the first to do it.
ISIS burns people alive. They're not the first to do it.

And anyway, my point is that any Christian who looks at extreme Islamist militants as an aberration of humanity, needs to understand it's nothing new. We just should all be thankful that they don't have the same power and influence as those who committed the horrors 500 years ago had.

this is what i always found fascinating about christians. that they believe man in inherently evil. in islam its the opposite. man is inherently pure but is always inevitably ruined by the evils of earth and shaytan (satan) and the nafs and whatnot.

More bad design by God then? I will create a being that is wicked, but if he later chooses to worship at my altar, he shall then be granted goodness?
