Why provoke someone and then act surprised when they get upset?

He referenced the bible to me in a very polite conversation we were having from two different off chutes of Christianity. 3 days later ppl are still mad? Why. It was a comnent made to me personally. And not only did he say it to me it was BECAUSE people were bashing each other for what they believe over and over. I personally gave a very private exsperience that happened to me with Christianity. From non beliver to beliver so he said it in the metaphorical sense. In a way to encourage me to keep my head up even against relentless bashing. At least that was my perception.

No, there just isn't a whole lot to talk about with atheism. You can go on forever about this or that religious doctrine and how it should be interpreted, but atheism is only an interesting topic of discussion when it's going up against religion.

I was on an atheist forum a while back, but the membership dwindled, and eventually we lost the last few theist members we still had and conversation took an absolute nose dive.

Same. Beyond the fact that we all were in agreement that magical shit was just make believe, we didn't necessarily have much in common or much to talk about. The only reason atheism even needs a name is because there are boatloads of people out there who believe fantasy is real. Aside from that, there isn't much to say.

A lot of atheists have similar views on science and philosophy, which can be interesting to discuss, but atheism isn't explicitly linked with science or philosophy.

Scientific facts reaffirm my atheism.
