I had christianity forced down my throat for a long time. I've been to bible school. My Uncle was the Pastor. My Grandmother made me go to church 2-3 times a week. Organized religion is the earliest form of fear mongering, but the elements of peace are intertwined into so much bullshit, it's almost impossible to distinguish between what's absurd and what's cold hard fact.

I guess I was lucky as a kid I never had religion force down my throat, maybe only Brussels sprouts and Lima beans. (No offense to people living in Belgium or Peru.) I am not too concern what is cold hard facts. Like for example Aesop's fables, I don't dismiss them on the scientific grounds animals can't speak. How ever the story is presented it is a keeper if there is some kind of life lesson to it, or if they reveal some kind of truth about the world we live in. I am not saying just because it is "religion" it is automatically flawless.

For me it's almost an impossible task to sift through four millennia of human history to show Judaeo-Christianity isn't as bad as people make it out to be. As for me if there are few things I can gleam from it then it has some worth. Things like peace, love and understanding.

You're not concerned with facts? Good luck with that.

You can 'glean' peace, love, and understanding from a lot of other things that are completely tangible without having to resort to "Believing" in fiction. Look into some of the teachings of Morihei Ueshiba, and you'll see a transparent look into peace, love and understanding. No fire and brimstone there.

Did you not have peace, love, and understanding before you found God? Serious question.

One of my biggest gripes with Christianity is this. According to the Bible: You can be the nicest person in the world your entire life, but if you choose not to accept Jesus, then you go to hell.

On the other hand, you can be the biggest jerk and loser your entire life, but as long as you accept Jesus, you get into heaven.

Splain that one Luzee.

There's a zero percent chance that heaven and hell are real. Zero. There's no chance. I can state as a fact I know this with 100% certainty. If you think there's even a one in a trillion chance that you go somewhere after you die then you are retarded. It's not feasible in any way. It's absolutely impossible. That's the end of the story. How you punch your ticket to go to some imaginary place is irrelevant. Even if you're alive you can't go to places that don't exist. But after you're dead you can't even go to Walmart because you don't exist anymore. But Walmart is real but that doesn't increase the chance of going there after you die. It does make the story doubly retarded that you go to a place that doesn't exist after you stop existing. But the chance of it being true is still no chance. Even though there are at least two reasons why it can't be true it's still only 100% untrue.

I'm not sure that comparing your belief system to a set of entirely fictional stories is the most flattering thing you could've done for it, but whatever.
