So, I'm all for talking to fellow Christians in this thread. Let's have this thread be a place for Christians to discuss.

To be pedantic, I'm pretty sure that everyone will decide that they're right.

Well when it's based strictly on opinion, it's obvious that people think that way. More because religion doesn't have a strict rule. If there were one religion and the facts were 100% legitimate, it'd be different.

I also want to throw out that I grew up a Christian, but then realized in my teen years that it was a bunch of bs. Nowadays, I don't follow any religion. I just live my life.

I suppose living in an unstable home as well can have that effect. However, I don't really believe in marriage either so there's also that.

I don't believe in the whole concept of it. I can happily be in a relationship with someone for a lifetime and call it good. I don't see the point in signing my name over to them. It never made sense to me and living with parents that have had their problems, it made more sense for me to stray away from it.

If people are happily married, good for them. I never really understood the point of making a ceremony out of it.

I'm allowed that at this stage of my life. Just don't tell me I haven't seen the light, or that I don't get it, or that I need to look harder or open my heart more. Or refer to me as a dog or pig because I refuse to believe your fairy tale.

Happy birthday and stuff Chula.

I kinda got sick of saying she's my girlfriend after a few years. I wanted to be able to say my wife. Plus there's tax benefits to being married. That, and once you bring kids into the picture it's the right thing to do for their sake IMO.

No apologies necessary mordwyr. We can all be a-holes now and then. As long as we admit to it.
