Not only an *******, but a dumb one, too. Please understand that it is impossible to know that there is no god. You can be really, really confident that there is no god, but it is logically impossible to prove that there is none, just as it is impossible for 1+1 to equal 3. If you disagree with this, then have fun being wrong.

Honestly, that can be true of anything that you implement into your life that gives it meaning. It's like marriage, having children, or really dedicating yourself to a hobby. Having something new in your life is bound to change it, but that doesn't mean that the thing that brings change into your life is true (in religion's case). I do think that the community and all that of religion do help some people who need it, but that still doesn't validate what's at its core.

I'd also like to mention that methamphetamines are also something that will transform your life.

And geez dude enough with the holier than thou whining about insults.

Insults and name calling are vile and show a smallness of soul, a complacency of stunted growth. It's sad to see, but I find it funny that Christianity is attacked more virulently than other religions. Of course it is, for darkness has seen the light and cannot understand it, so those who live in darkness hate it.

I'd like to continue this thread for those who are genuinely curious and liberal minded. For those who have already made up their minds against Christianity and froth at the mouth whenever Jesus' holy name is mentioned, this thread is not for you. It will only serve to anger you more.
Yeah, nobody's angry at you or Christianity. Your religion is irrelevant to us. We're just passing the time until we have to go to work or sleep or whatever.

Why should he need to insult us when he gets to imagine us all burning in hell for all eternity for our slanderous insults to his god? Far less vile.

Not that its any of your business but when I made the jump from not believing and not drinking the kool aide to putting my name in the baptisim box at 24 years old it was very privately done and very hush hush. When they dunked me in the pool and brought me up I took a breath in and felt a weight come out of my body and my spirit has been ligther ever since so light I passed out in the parking lot.I dont go to churches because the word says man will always fail you.My beef is man not God. I've been soo low and literally shackled and handcuffed in a jail cell and called out to a God I didnt know to help me. And he ****ing did. And there aint **** you can say to me to change my mind or make me denounce him. God changed my life that day and the baptisim didnt take place till 9 months later. So I know what a personal relationship with the almighty can do. But Im a very radical Christian if you will I spent loads of time read Gnostic gospels, the bible, books about the stairway to enlightenment and Stephen Hawking as well as **** like hyperspace. So I personally believe God shows himself in the form the human will accept. Something they understand. If you were a deity why would confine yourself to be worshipped in one way and one way only. Those ideas are heretical in and of themselves. I also dont think Id be gifted with tarot abilities and herb knowledge if I wasn't supposed to have it. But as far as the bible is concerned Ecclesiastes , Ephesians, Corinthians, changed my life. To everything turn turn baby.

The Gnostic Gospels are a crazy read. Isn't there one verse in the gospel of Thomas where kid Jesus makes another kid whithered and old because he splashed in his puddles?

Quote:
II. 1 This little child Jesus when he was five years old was playing at the ford of a brook: and he gathered together the waters that flowed there into pools, and made them straightway clean, and commanded them by his word alone. 2 And having made soft clay, he fashioned thereof twelve sparrows. And it was the Sabbath when he did these things (or made them). And there were also many other little children playing with him.

3 And a certain Jew when he saw what Jesus did, playing upon the Sabbath day, departed straightway and told his father Joseph: Lo, thy child is at the brook, and he hath taken clay and fashioned twelve little birds, and hath polluted the Sabbath day. 4 And Joseph came to the place and saw: and cried out to him, saying: Wherefore doest thou these things on the Sabbath, which it is not lawful to do? But Jesus clapped his hands together and cried out to the sparrows and said to them: Go! and the sparrows took their flight and went away chirping. 5 And when the Jews saw it they were amazed, and departed and told their chief men that which they had seen Jesus do.

III. 1 But the son of Annas the scribe was standing there with Joseph; and he took a branch of a willow and dispersed the waters which Jesus had gathered together. 2 And when Jesus saw what was done, he was wroth and said unto him: O evil, ungodly, and foolish one, what hurt did the pools and the waters do thee? behold, now also thou shalt be withered like a tree, and shalt not bear leaves, neither root, nor fruit. 3 And straightway that lad withered up wholly, but Jesus departed and went unto Joseph's house. But the parents of him that was withered took him up, bewailing his youth, and brought him to Joseph, and accused him 'for that thou hast such a child which doeth such deeds.'
