If a faith in a supreme being helps a person get through the day it's wrong to call them stupid. It you go around saying that the earth is only 6,000 years old and that evolution is a hoax - well that's pretty stupid.

You can't lump all Christians or other people of faith into a single bracket. My boss and his wife are both extremely religious. But they never preach about it. And they fully believe in evolution. They don't take the bible as black or white.

There's tons of great wisdom and life lessons in the bible. There's also a bunch of fairy tale ****.

They both choose to embrace the former and take the latter for what it is.

Complexity and nuance are an insult? Seriously? Your critical thinking abilities are simply nonexistent. My mother is a perfectly intelligent human being, who has been basically a deist all of her life. She never went to church, never prayed, and never bought into any of the hoopla of organized religion. But she's recently suffered some medical issues that brought her face to face with her own mortality, and all of a sudden she started going to church. I don't think it was logical, but when faced with the threat of imminent death, then I can very easily see where emotion clouds your logical reasoning, and I don't use that to judge her intelligence, because I can appreciate nuance and complexity. Grow up.

Note alot of NDEs result in becoming more spirtiual.
