It's condemned a little bit. You have to pay the father of your victim and marry the victim. The problem is that it completely ignores the perspective of the victim because women don't really have a say, in general, in the bible.
In history. The Bible is an historical document. Just because it's in the Bible doesn't mean it's necessarily praiseworthy. Guess what else is in the Bible? Jews who want to return to their slavery in Egypt because they miss the Egyptians' emissions. Apparently, they have cumshots like horses.

Stalin, yup. Let's see if Putin can outrank him on the high score chart.

The Bible is a document of historical fiction my dude. It's set around events that are real and fills in a lot of gaps with stories.

That's the problem. The Bible allows broken social memes generated by desperate societies to persist in a time when they're no longer needed.

Hitler and the US invoked Christianity.

Yes, indeed. For example, the Song of Solomon. It's poetry, not based on real events but inspired by Solomon's love for his sister, his one true love he could never have.

But they were not the Church. They were secular by definition.

There's a joke to be made here, but I think I'm just going to type this sentence.

Dude had 700 wives and 300 mistresses but still wanted to **** his sister?

How convenient. I'm going to kill, rape, and pillage in the name of God and the Bible - but it doesn't count in your worldview?

Talk about having your cake and eating it too. Typical hypocritical Christian justification mindset.

I don't know Solomon's mind, of course, but I assume he wanted his sister because he loved her, not just wanted to bang her. That's what I get from the reading of the poetry.

"The one true love he could never have" is just a questionable way to phrase it imo.
