America is a collection of states that used to have a lot more sovereignty than they do now. Even when the Constitution was ratified they had more sovereignty, until the Civil War put an end to a large extent to the debate between states right vs. the federal government.

Should the states start seceding now?

So..if you are a part of the EU you are giving up all sovereignty? I guess I live in a country that has no sovereignty...oh well...I will raise a glass to this this evening.

As I see it, as long as the UK trades with the EU, it still has to make allowances. No one wants a trade deal that is completely one sided, sovereignty or not. You still have to make compromises, unless you plan to just become isolated. Hence, my space plan for the UK should still be an option

I agree with this so hard. Explain yourselves! I'm glad they left though just because I want to see them suffer.

Should the cities start seceding from the states? Should neighborhoods start seceding from cities? It seems like at some point people need to recognize the need to band together to function in the world.

Thick.

In the case of the USA, that ship has sailed. No state may secede without it coming to war. As for the UK, that ship has not sailed. They may still leave the EU if they wish. And they do.

People do band together in this world. The UK is a good example. A bunch of people made a nation.
