They don't actually, It is all about standardized testing and has been for years.

I just realized that I didn't read anything after that sentence and now that I have it was for good reason.

Wheatherunderground fan?

This should have been a sign not to elect OBAMA. When your bestie is a radical that bombs banks, and hides underground for years only to resurface in the education system rather then super max.

That reminds me of the South Park episode where they find out that 9/11 conspiracy theories themselves are actually a conspiracy orchestrated by the government to make them look more powerful.

Why would anyone need to validate political correctness as a concept? It's a term referring to politicians saying or doing the things that are "correct", politically-speaking, within their political environment. It's done by both the left and the right, but the right has used it as an attack against left the for so long now that it's completely lost meaning for people and they think it's some kind of ideology.

I really don't see people use it in the same sense as they would as other ideologies say like capitalism, communism or what have you. Though I do a gree with you that Political correctness has evolved. And it seems it has taken on a life of its own.

Words evolve and just like any other word the connotation of "political correctness" has changed too. It might have started out as in-joke on the left "Not very 'politically correct', Comrade!"* (which is one possible explanation for the modern usage.) And the right's in-joke was to take the left's in-joke and beat them over the head with it.

Judging by the way it is used now it seems more of a means of an ideology to control speech and behaviour more so than a type of ideology. Taken to extremes PC is a type of censorship. In cases where the speaker intend to mean no harm, yet an offense is taken, it is used as a way of calling people out for "thought crimes."

*Political correctness
