I'm still freaked out over the idea that every time you fall asleep, the you that existed since you woke up is now dead.

How is that unsettling?

Obviously, but so long as no one ever pulls the plug on your consciousness so to speak, and it never has to be rebooted in another place, then you're probably on the right track. There simply has to be a way to give my brain the power of a super computer without changing the nature of who I am or accidentally erasing me.

Not much I can do about that, but I can be a paranoid conspiracy theorist about human+ until I'm an immortal.

And so if you replicate the blueprint is it something seperate from or a continuation of a concioussness?

I have yet to find a satisfactory answer in either direction
Try this if you don't mind slogging through some math. It's a stimulating read.

Why only once per second?

Anyone read Dennett's 'Consciousness Explained'?
I started reading once and really liked where he was going but had little time for reading back then and it's not an easy book you can read casually for ten minutes a day.
Gonna try against during my vacation.

then watched the movie with johnny deep that they made from it.

would be nice to upload your conscious mind as some program on a tv screen in someones home. that was weird where the lady would talk to the johnny deep character at the table eating and hes just a tv screen
