Sporting events would start off more interestingly if they sang punk songs instead of dreary old bar songs.

I only half-heartedly follow UK politics, but I noticed the news about Iain Duncan Smith. My understanding is that he was pretty much a laughing stock when cast as party leader on account of having no leadership qualities at all, but that was a few years back.
If he's now resigning on a matter of principle and blowing the whistle on what appears to be the Tories cynical squeeze-the-poor-reward-the-rich money management, he suddenly leaps up in my estimation. Oh, and about the referendum, has there been a big MB debate somewhere that I've missed?

Yes, I thought her speech was very good. She sounded sincere and well-intentioned and did a nice job of trying to engage, to include everyone. I hope she can actually deliver on some of the improvements she's promising.
The good news too is that Britain is advancing past the initial Brexit uncertainty, which Cameron was inclined to leave hanging until October. That would've been really disastrous!

I just think it is incredible how fast Camerion moved house. I mean, it has only been a bit over two weeks since he has left office and he has already packed up and moved. When I moved, it took a lot longer.
Seriously though, May seems like a decent person. I am sure you all will do well with her (although I do wonder, with May becoming PM and Hammond as chancellor, all you need is Clarkson for your foreign secretary and you have the cast of the former Top Gear jk) I do think Brexit did put the EU into perspective for many countries in the EU. It is not just this vague entity that we belong to. Perhaps it will make the EU stronger? Update: Wait a minute. Boris Johnson is your new foreign secretary?
