I don't believe in ghosts any more than I believe in anything involving the afterlife, but that all goes out the window after I've spent time at night on the No Sleep section of Reddit.
Only time I've ever had anything involving a paranormal experience was when I got hella stoned and thought the clouds were showing me messages, but I decided to dismiss the idea once sober. Quote:

Have never experienced something so peculiar that I couldn't attribute it to several natural possibilities or drug symptoms. Plenty of malfunctioning electronics in the middle of the night, plenty of doors shutting mysteriously, peculiar sounds from the hallway after dark, things scraping on the windows, breezes through buildings that sound a lot like a voices, hearing / seeing things that aren't there when I'm exceptionally tired, sure, all of the above, but blaming it on the dead before accepting that I simply don't know what made it happen? Not yet.

On a serious note...
Something weird has really only happened to me once. I was lying in bed, going to sleep, when my bed shifted. It was exactly as if someone were sitting on the edge and then sat up. I had a cat bit he wasn't in the room at the time. I'll still swear to the day I die that something stood up from my bed and left.... That's it though, only happened once |

I grew up on ghost stories and was very interested in the occult as a teenager. If you'd asked me then if I'd seen any weird shit, I would have said yes. But that's to be expected when you spend time in old derelict houses at night or sleep over in old german bunkers, winded up on ghost stories and books on the occult.
A ghostly visage would be fleeting, vague and wouldn't last long. If you believe it to be a ghost, that's the story you tell yourself. Or you could think a bit and perhaps realize it could have simply been a lingering after-image of light after staring at a candle and then looking into a dark room. Colour it with a bit of imagination and you have the glimpze of a ghost. The noises and the creaky doors are the wind or a crow picking at a window. When you're meditating or have a fever, you may see a dark shadow stretching towards you from the corner of your room or your friend sitting on your floor, looking at you with red eyes. But then again you may be prone to be half-dreaming in a dark room at that point. Sit up, turn the lights on and there's nothing there. Under sober scrutiny, it melts away. So for me, even though I went looking for it, I never found anything definite. It was only true to the extent I managed to kid myself and my belief in the supernatural could not be sustained without wishful thinking. There was always rational explanations and I couldn't ignore them. This is of course a long time ago. Today, I just think the world would be a better place if people believed in the reality outside their own heads.

Pretty obvious innit.
