I thought you learned logic in a public school?

public school taught me that it's not ok to cite wiki in a formal paper but it is ok to cite wiki on an internet message board

Dude which school did you go to? My high school didn't have any tips on forum etiquette.

John Wilkes Booth 07-27-2015 09:40 PM

Well they did a bad job on the whole strawman thing but I guess they're not bad in all fields.

John Wilkes Booth 07-27-2015 09:47 PM

yea, they never taught me to just impulsively say strawman whenever i disagree with someone

this is why i hate my parents for not sending me to private school

Neither did mine, I picked that gem all up on my own.

Also, suggesting that I disagree with someone just for pointing out a fallacy is a, you guessed it, strawman fallacy in itself.

This is starting to get pretty meta.

yea... i thought about this before posting that but i figured since your strawman detection equipment is miscalibrated, i might as well just use real strawmen arguments since you seemingly can't tell the difference anyway

Just because I post something doesn't mean I really think that way. Strawman.
