The system was set up all wrong hundreds of years ago but it ain't changing, since it would take the House and Senate voting against their own better interests to do it. That just plain isn't going to happen.

I think the bigger problem is with Congress. 100 senators and 435 representatives are voted on state by state. But ultimately they wield the power over the entire country. Remember this: The New New Deal: Why the GOP Became the Party of No | TIME.com The people running in state elections can cater to their homegrown base in order to get in. And then they wreak havoc once they get to Washington. Ted Cruz anyone????
