donald trump 4 prez
i know there's a 2016 election thread, but like every else in life i feel like there needs to be a seperate thread exclusively for donald trump, since he is running. i wouldn't want to derail the other thread with too much donald. but seriously.... what are the prospects of this guy making it past the primaries?
i'm halfway tempted to think the republican party is just crazy enough to nominate him. i mean they almost nominated a handful of people who were almost just as ridiculous last time around... and this time they really don't seem to have any solid prospects in terms of a marketable personality to really rally behind... it seems to me like trump could be their best bet. he's a high risk play... but i think that might be the kind of strategy they need to employ to get people to vote republican again. last time they tried playing it safe with mitt and that bit them right in the ass. meanwhile donald is super marketable... the guy is practically a living breathing commodity. and he can spew jobs rhetoric and cite his 'businesss experience' and ****... honestly people in this country seem to buy that **** right up. i dunno man, i could just be a crazy guy on the internet, or donald trump could be our next president. |
I hope you all make this happen.
4 years of glorious comedy is all I ask for. |
You are just a crazy guy on the internet.
Trump is currently in 9th place based on RCP polls. And you just know he's gonna be putting his foot in his mouth over and over again in the coming months. And when he gets cornered in a verbal exchange he always turns up the braggadocio which makes him look bad. He's also not very good at lying. |
Someone had to do it....

Oh god I hope he has a chance. Reality is not yet close enough to surrealism for my taste.
|
I'd move to Canada
|
He'll be blown out of the water.
|
It'd be a huge step for civil rights and equality in America - the first orange president

Trump is now #2 in New Hampshire behind Jeb in the latest poll of Republican voters.
|
I really hope he wins and then somehow figures out a way to surprise everyone and do everything right in his presidency and fix everything that is broken. Now that would be hilarious.

I mean he'll be the best president since Reagan so you know where my vote will go.

I pretty much know jack **** about Reagan. All I know is the jerkoff fest I hear from conservative types, and the liberals' claims that whatever good he did for the economy helped no one below a certain economic level. It's kind of hard to what to think of the dude with both sides being so polarized towards him.
That, and he was the first pres to really tap into the Evangelical vote, even though he didn't really seem to sync up with their whole shtick as much as he pretended. |

The dude gutted Social Security resulting in massive tax hikes (but not for the rich). He ignored AIDS against the wishes of his health officials while it was raging across the country. During his tenure the National debt tripled. We can pretty much thank him for setting up the middle east terrorist network, since his administration bankrolled their start-up with arms and money. And he put the pedal to the metal on the whole war on drugs, again at the expense of mostly lower wage workers. EDIT: And worst of all, his policies were pretty much responsible for the whole Yuppie thing. http://primpicha.files.wordpress.com...handbook01.jpg |
How funny is it that the arrow seems to indicate that her skirt is made of fresh pasta? Way to save the planet girl! Edible knickers? Gone one better. And if you get hungry you can just nibble at the hem...

i dunno.. call me crazy but i find this guy extremely entertaining. he's great at spinning any question asked into an answer that makes him sound good. i think he's got what it takes, tbh. plus he's very wealthy. and i know people love to hate on wealthy, but at the same time they're attracted to it. they want to be around it. they look at trump and they say, this guy has it going on, this is a guy i want to have in my corner. i dunno man all i'm hearing and all i'm seeing is the people want trump. think about it.. the president is mostly a symbolic figurehead anyway. so we've had our bland obama milkshake, and i'll even say i think it was good to have a nice safe landing like that after the country faced economic despair... but we've recovered now, rehabilitated, getting a little more swing to our step, and ready for some donald trump. i think we as a nation have finally progressed to that level.
i can't wait till the republican primary debates. i wasn't intending on watching them but now i definitely will just for trump. |

I'd rim Ann.

Trump is no longer a joke as he is now the number 2 man in the GOP primaries.
Trump surges to second in 2016 GOP poll | TheHill and if I were a swing voter in the States, I would seriously consider voting for Trump, because his trade policies are pro American. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tsh_V3U7EfU Every other major Republican candidate from Bush to Walker to Paul are for the same old trade policies that have been evaporating the American middle class since the Reagan revolution. The same with Hillary, although I admire the Clintons, they're third way wall street democrats like Tony Blair. Bernie Saunders would be a better choice for the American working class. Clinton however is a shoe in to win the primaries but Bush is not. So if you want change, f)ck Bush and go Trump! |
Works for me. Sold!
|
I'm not sure if Jeb can live up to the hilarity of Georgie boy's presidency, so Trump all the way.
|
Well looking at the other end of the political spectrum.
Go Bernie! Why Bernie Sanders Will Become the Democratic Nominee and Defeat Any Republican in 2016*|*H. A. Goodman |
does anyone know the specifics regarding how you vote in the primary elections? cause i tried googling it and i get a big cluster**** of information that i'm not really willing to sort through. somebody give it to me in a nutshell how i would go about voting for bernie sanders in the democratic primary or donald trump in the republican primary in my state (nc). also... can i do both?
|
I think that it varies from state to state, but iirc, I think that you can only vote in the primaries of the party that you're registered in. If the primaries are far enough apart, you could always change your party stance to vote in both. I know I'm always right, but you might want to fact check me on this because I'm a little hazy on it myself.
