If you want to get semantic, that is kind of literally what that means.

So say I don't have a college degree, is my vote for Hillary uneducated even if I did research?

That doesn't have anything to do with it. Educated means that you went to college. You can learn a lot of things, know quite a bit, be a smart mother****er with critical thinking to boot, but if you didn't go to college, you are put down on the census or in polls as uneducated. That's why I said that, on the semantic level (not the more colloquial one, which is the way that you're looking at it I think) not going to college literally means that you're uneducated.

Don't confuse it with uninformed.

So if a person graduated from high school, that person is still uneducated? Even if that person furthered his/her education by going to a trade school?

That's what I'm getting confused about. Are people who run businesses successfully but have no college degree still uneducated? Doesn't make sense to me.

Probably because I already answered it. Think of it in terms of how a political scientist will quantify a portion of the population, not as a synonym for stupid.
