Having a degree in economics might not translate to him knowing how to keep the country safe from terrorism but he has advisers for that.

Presidents nowadays don't need to know shit. All they have to do is pick expert advisers in each field and listen to their advice.

I'm going to vote for Trump in the fall just to spite the stupid electoral college system. Trump won't win in NY so it doesn't matter if I vote for him.

How is voting for trump going to spite the electoral college?

In a firm blue or red state like New York or Texas (respectively), the winner take all system makes a joke of the concept of minority rights.

No, I understand that. I just don't see how it's a spite. I don't think the establishment cares which way you vote really.

English is hard and you might not know what all of this means so here:

Minority rights means that those who did not vote with the majority have their voice heard. With the winner take all system (which means that all of the votes in the electoral college for that state go with what the majority votes for, as opposed to doing the electoral college votes proportionally with the popular vote), the states with a sure right or left popular vote render the minority's voice meaningless. So voting against your interest is spiteful because it doesn't matter how you'll vote either way when it's always such a sure thing. In the rare event that Trump wins NY, it'll also give Trump supporters their just deserts. I'll let DJ confirm what his point is before going on.

Oh, and don't call other members idiots por favor. Mostly because it only makes you look like someone who's incapable of rational debate, but also because it's against the rules.

By that logic then you're only being spiteful to yourself by throwing your vote away. You end up going to the polls and wasting your time just tp make you're vote meaningless. Seems like being spiteful towards yourself.

Nope, I'm not being spiteful to myself. Is this your first year voting kiddo?

You know there are other things to vote on the ballot besides presidential candidates right?

And Frownland hit the nail on the head with his last post. He understood what I meant the first time I said it.
