that's some fine investigative reporting you're doing there, chula. i'd love to see you corner trump with a mic and demand he answer these questions of yours. the guy would talk circles around you
basically he's just saying "hey NASCAR fans... we're still cool... but your company is trying to **** with my money... and business is business at the end of the day. TRUMP 2016" |

trigger warning: tl:dr approaching etc etc
in all seriousness, i can tell you care and there's been a bit of antagonism between us lately cause i'm just vibing off the whole trump thing where as you're seriously concerned about the upcoming elections. i will say i'm sort of delighted at the recent turn of events and the way things have gone more or less as i've predicted even though i was only being half serious at the time people are latching onto trump's xenophobic statements as if he's the new voice of the people. and the left is falling right into the trap by trying to simultaneously discredit him as a joke while officially taking the stance of being 'offended' and 'outraged' at his insensitive comments. that's the problem with a john stewart type of jester... he cares too much to maintain his status as the jester. if trump was the joke people were saying he is then there wouldn't be so much controversy over him making some crass statements generalizing illegal immigrants etc. these statements have been amplified and distorted by the leftist media in an attempt to completely discredit him and devalue his brand so as to neutralize any threat of him coming out as a serious candidate against whoever they put up.. most likely hillary. they're taking it so serious because he's got people a little bit spooked. because he's demonstrating simply and effectively that hey, facts can be on your side all day, if i can talk faster than you and make it sound more appealing to the average listener than i can win the narrative war and turn that into political leverage later to win the actual election and take power. so he's tapping into the ignorance of the common man, and he's quick witted enough to do it in a way where no matter how much **** people sling at him, he can still walk away looking to a lot of people like a semi-reasonable and upstanding individual. i'll be honest... my conscious does sort of weigh in and say to me that beyond being incredibly entertained by the current course of events, i say to myself "hey... if trump actually gets in this **** might be a serious disaster, or another significant step in the wrong direction" so i feel like you feel that hillary is i guess the "lesser of two evils"? cause like i'm no expert on economics or anything but as far as i know there's a reason why we don't tariff goods from china etc... the current structure is cheaper and more lucrative for companies... which yea might be greedy and not the best set up overall but in terms of lets say stimulating economic growth... i'm really skeptical about the idea that if you make it more expensive to do business this way, that those manufacturing jobs are just going to transfer back to the united states without taking a pretty decent hit to the economy. and of course i have no idea if trump is even being serious with proposing this kind of **** or if he's using the chinese the same way obama used the word "change" in 2008. but yea i've just been falling back on standing up for trump and putting him out there, why? because i feel like a lot of you guys think that just because you have a more logical way of going about a particular issue than the kind of rhetoric that he's spewing, that you need not take him serious. and i'm seeing something completely different. i think you should be taking him very serious if you're at all concerned about this sort of thing. you can't underestimate the power of good salesmanship in politics. and trump is a king of kings in that kind of game. Well you at least have to thank Trump for turning what was up till then, a pretty dry and boring primary, into an exciting entertaining event.
Democratic primaries are so boring because they are so nice and civil to each other. Republicans on the other hand go right for the jugular. This has the makings to be a blood bath of epic proportions!!! I hope my sword wielding gladiators don't disappoint. |
