He might not be up for reelection, but his presence in the nation's mind is still going to affect how we view any Democrat.
And like I said before, nobody really likes Hillary. She's uninspiring to Democrats, and Republicans want her head on a pike. She'll only win if she has a challenger as vanilla as her.
