you can't be too familiar with his work if you honestly think he's becoming 'more christian.' have you read the book in question? because he talks about almost every point that you brought up.

Why would you? All you gotta do is write a couple sentences that sound vaguely smart, and he can't help but write a doctoral thesis in response. It's like trolling fish in a barrel.

Dear Lord Larehip,
Jack Zipes in his work "Tales of Innocent Persecuted Heroines” states, "our notion of female protagonists in fairy tales has been greatly informed by male collectors and writers who often domesticated the heroines and made them more passive than they actually were" (94). How does Sexton or Lee un-domesticate Cinderella? How does she manipulate the plot points to achieve her goals?

I bet you can't explain that in 4-6 pages, MLA format.

You cited your in-text quotations correctly, but forgot to cite them at the bottom of the page.

Answering the question posed in the first post, there are many reasons. One of the more important ones would be that I just think religions do a very poor job of explaining the universe we exist in. Their stories and explanations don't fit with our observations and discoveries, so obviously they are false. I want to know things about the universe, like how the earth was created and how life evolves here. In that search for truth, religions seem only to confuse and trick people. I get that there are comforts that come with religion, but the price (believing in lies and the various consequences of that) is one I consider much too high.

There are other factors too, like I never had a religious upbringing, but I probably would've ended up an atheist even if I had.
