Probably not. I always like the historical Jesus tale too. Poor carpenter gets rich Jewish guys daughter pregnant. Big no no. Dad gets mad, comes up with immaculate conception to hide the embarrassment. Boom, Jesus.

This tread has basically become "A Concise History of How Constellations Are Better Than Your Religion".

That's nothing. I sold a potato that looked like John Lennon for 40k.

Slight digression, but I'd just like to mention that, while I love all my atheist brothers and sisters, the ones who convert from a religion can be exhausting. I have nothing definitive to back this up, but the ones who seem to have been atheists all their lives, often because they weren't brought up with religion and it just felt alien to them, seem like slacker atheists---they don't like religion and all that, but for the most part they don't really give a **** about bitching about it after a certain age.
But a lot of the former Christians and such seem to have something to prove. Like religion is an emasculating, cheating ex-girlfriend they just have to complain about at every given opportunity. They often seem to be the ones who have the most vitriol, and while it's perfectly understandable, the entire point of not having to worry about god is that you don't have to worry about him. Take a load off and just enjoy the fact that you don't have to use a compass to pray five times a day.

If any formerly religious atheists get mad, I'll just call them butthurt. Any atheists who've never been religious who complain I'll just call Uncle Toms.

I'm an x-Christian myself. What I don't like is when people use atheism as a genius card. As if they couldn't have arrived at atheism due to their raising or their feelings. Regardless of whether x-Xian or not (some people just have had a bad experience with religion).
