Sure the conquest of America was driven by that rivalry, but the slave trade was very much a product of the "necessity" of bringing in labor that could deal with malaria and other tropical and sub-tropical diseases. It may not have been the original cause, but I doubt slavery would have reached the levels it did without that.

dunno it probably applies to a good majority of the state. keep in mind there's like a thousand miles of coast land to this state... only about 100 or so of which comprises its main metropolitan area
all i can say is the high school i went to had something like 3300 kids in it and damn near every other school in the area was the same. |

i don't mind florida. it was just too expensive for me, tbh. it's not a good place to live when you are broke. the wages down there for unskilled labor are **** and the cost of living is pretty high. i might move back someday when i have more money, but i'm thinking i'll probably move somewhere else cause i like to change things up.

i do miss some aspects of living down there like the food and culture but honestly i probably prefer the weather here. i am of european descent, i wasn't made to live in a ****in rainforest. it stays relatively warm here most of the year, the winters aren't very long or harsh. but other than that it's boring as ****. much more beautiful than where i lived in florida, to be perfectly honest. has a sort of natural beauty to it. but still boring as ****. i think atlanta or charlotte might be better for me.
