You've been mixed up for about 30 pages now, but then again most radicals usually are.

I haven't since page 20 something, but I do find it amusing that you're still constantly tripping over your laces in this thread, surely you should've learnt to tie them up properly by now.

A = B = C. You totally, though indirectly, insinuated that all people of the Islamic faith are bearded thugs.
i was actually accusing the other side of expressing those sentiments indirectly. i wasn't actually proposing that " all muslims are incapable of behaving civilized." i was saying that proposing that we need to avoid insulting their religion or else expect this sort of violence is implicitly making the declaration that we should expect this type of behavior from them.

in no way does this mean that my bearded thugs comment translates as "all muslims are bearded thugs."

now stop telling me what i mean by my own posts you stubborn bastard.

Don't worry about John Ill'n Booth, I don't know if I agree with your politics yet, but I do appreciate British humour.

It is a religious-political idealogy.

If islamic extremists (mainly the leaders & defenders of militant islam) have so much of a backbone why do they strap bombs on women or children or arm young men with guns? They fill children and young adults up with promises paradise if they die for islam, and send them off to kill people and basically commit suicide in the process. The leaders of militant islam are wolves in sheep's clothing preying on the young and naive. I doubt if you'll watch this but how can you respect a person like that?

they use those tactics because they work. if you look at the reasoning islamic extremists give for defending suicide attacks, it is largely that this is the only weapon they have left while the west has a top notch military & weapons industry.

i should clarify what i mean by respect. i don't mean admiration. i mean respect in the same way churchhill & roosevelt must have respected the nazi regime. if you notice the potential in a threat, you have to respect them on some level. otherwise you have no reason to regard them as a threat.

That reasoning doesn't work because civilians are the targets of suicide bombers, it isn't so much used against the military. It's more likely that terrorist would use improvised explosive devices (and not a suicide bomber) against the military. And it's not a West vs. islamic extremists problem, but an islamic extremists vs. anybody-in-the-world-not-with-them problem.
